Description
The Professor and Director of the UCLA Easton
Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research is looking for highly motivated
applicants interested in a Researcher position to investigate mechanisms and
novel therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. The Researcher assists with
experiments to study cell and molecular, neural network, and behavior
relationships in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. The Researcher is
critical to manage mouse colonies, breedings, and cohorts. The Researcher
interfaces with a translational group bridging bench discoveries with human
clinical trials. The laboratory studies mechanisms and novel treatments for
seizures and related memory loss in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. In
tandem, Dr. the lab's clinical studies investigate network hyperexcitability in
Alzheimer's disease, and include clinical trials of anti-seizure drugs to treat
Alzheimer's disease-associated network hyperexcitability (ClinicalTrials.gov
Identifier: NCT02002819).
This is a limited position that may convert to
career.
Pay Range: $24.88 - $29.67 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in related field.
Incumbent must have 1 - 3 years related experience.
Ability to follow precedents and procedures, set priorities, and organizes work within general guidelines.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
Rodent handling experience
