UCLA Health MCS/VAD Coordinator in Los Angeles, California
Description
The Clinical Nurse IV will provide individualized care in the inpatient and outpatient environments under the direction and in collaboration with VAD supervising physicians. Major functions include clinical expertise to provide direct comprehensive patient care management, consultations, education, and research, inter and intradepartmental liaison, resources, and leadership for specific care populations across the healthcare continuum. Report directly to the Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and Nurse Manager.
Salary range :$68.79-$98.22/hourly
Qualifications
Current CA licenses of RN or NP -required.
CCRN, PALS -preferred
5 years in critical care experience -required.
Knowledge and skills of nursing care-required
Knowledge of cardiology and heart transplant-required
Knowledge of normal cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology-required
Ability to identify common cardiopulmonary pathophysiology-required
Physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions-required
Skill and ability to respond speedily and accurately with patient needs and physician directions-required
Skill and ability to communicate clearly-required
Skill and ability to write clearly and concisely-required
Skill and ability to work as a team-required
Skill and ability to recognize signs and symptoms of patient distress-required
Skill and ability to intervene when patient is distressed-required
Ability to read, interpret, apply and/or follow physician orders, policies, procedures or written and verbal instructions-required
Skill in CPR, & ACLS as required for age group-required
Skill of organizing and prioritizing-required
Skill in training staff complex concepts-required
Skill in evaluating and establishing a program-required
Skill in organizing and teaching classes-required
Ability to take calls after work, on weekends and holidays and report to work in a timely manner-required
